You can still hear the sound of a young group finding their feet within a more nuanced musical idiom on ‘Beaches’. But the only remnant left of Bridezilla's more uncertain beginnings is the awkward band name. Cut from the promising cloth of their forthcoming debut, The First Dance, ‘Beaches’ traffics in economic phrasing, delicate production and softly-spoken romance. It’s a sparse and succinct composition belying a significant emotional resonance (cop those little slants of silence peppering the spaces between sections, evidence of the band’s honed sense of restraint).

Time to quit the hate, ‘Beaches’ makes you feel like rising from bed to go out and find true love. “Whisper in my ear/Hold me closer, my dear,” sings Holiday Sidewinder over the rising strings and strains of the music. It’s so disarmingly endearing that it might as well describe your feelings towards the track itself.
