Update: Thanks everyone, I recovered all the files! You really saved my ass, not to mention 2 days of shooting and an already overdue deadline.

I ran one program that K2 suggested, but it didn't find the files I needed (NEF raw), but I had success with a program simply called 'Card Recovery'. It ran the scan for a couple of hours, and found all of the files - but I had to fork over 40$ and buy the software in order to save them. Was worth it though!

Okay, so it sounds like there is still hope. The 20-30 photos I took this morning I will save somewhere first before trying to recover yesterday's.

The card wasn't full, perhaps 75% full (about 200ish images). But I took maybe 20 - 30 shots on it this morning...

Oh crap! I have used the card since, but didn't take many photos. Does it overwrite them all no matter how many I took? Oh geez. I'm such an idiot!

Hi, I am seeking some advice re: data recovery software. I formatted a compact flash card in my camera, but now need to recover the images (due to a hard drive crash on my computer)

Is this possible? Have you done it before? And can you lead me in the right direction.
