Hofbrauhaus has been there alot longer than 2003. I distinctly remember being thrown out of there sometime in the 90's for misuse of the cowbells!

Good Friday what is open?
Comment I Made about 9 months ago
In an official council letter from the city of stonnington it appears that the Chapel Street Precinct is a designated tourist destination so exempt from closing on good friday. So we could open, if we wanted to watch the tumbleweeds blowing down the street. All our customers obviously attend Church that day because they certainly don't shop.

More Venue Woes: Pure Pop, The Excelsior

St Kilda on weekend afternoons are noisy, really noisy. Backpackers, tourists, markets, football/cricket in the Peanut farms, bars and drunks and kids and dogs, loud motorbikes and fast cars with pumping sound systems...I'm not sure what possible difference Pure Pop could make to that area (and yes, I was a few doors up from them for many years) except it Music not just mindless cacophony

I highly recommend the book (or web blog) ''things bogans like''. It's like a travel guide for the bogan world and helps you indentify dreaded bogan tendencies in yourself and avoid them. Most importantly it helped me understand the psyche of my family ''the Endeavour Hillbillies'' and avoid them too!

it once had a ''groovy'' bar upstairs with 60's blues and pop and such. Whatever happened to that?
