Um, if you were playing in Pavement, making their money for playing songs written 16 years ago, wouldn't you be 'happy lookin'?

Aus bands in international press

CIrcle Pit are a decent band. But do you think that YYY would like Circle Pit so much if the members weren't all gay and unusually dressed?

Why should we care what kind of house the record was mixed in?
Talk about padding up their bio.

Hey Azza
I saw your full page ad in Beat Magazine. It does not say where the festival actually is!
Tell people the location!
Midnight Juggernauts new clip

I think the Juggers are a great band. Great songs and production. Stricker is probably reading this.
However, I like the old Krozm clip for 'Into the Galaxy' more than the new pricey one.

Lady Strangelove are managed by Tim Bull, who is bringing out Helmet.
bidding war band: The Galvatrons
Comment I Made about 3 years ago
Yes, but Ladyhawke may not like that.
The Galvatrons are in a funny situation. Because they are being aggressively marketed to Aussie bogans, they're alienating the music 'in' crowd (plus their music is very Triple M).
Either they will be really big, or it will stiff big-time. There is no middle-ground for bands that take such a mass-market, 'major label' route. That's why they've risen so quickly.
Richard Kingsmill at Triple J is not sucked in by hype, especially when the act is from Melbourne. It will be interesting to see if he likes the Galvatrons. Infamously, he refused to get behind Airbourne.
By the way, I think that Galvatrons are undeniably good at what they do.
It's not my bag, but they pull off the 80s yacht rock / hair metal shtick very well. I think Johnny's a talented guy.
Getting international band support slots...

Raven is absolutely right,
But unless the show is sold out, the promoter generally wants a support band that will help SELL TICKETS.
That's really what it comes down to, at least for the main support slot.
Some promoters , like Handsome, are really receptive to bands sending in CDs. Others, like Frontier, basically play the corporate cock game.
When a support is announced for a good international tour, I can usually tell in a second why they got the tour. It's normally because of a connection with their label or manager.
