Camp A Low Hum 09: Aussie Invasion

Comment I Made about 2 years ago

this was my second time at camp, and it seemed a lot more chilled than last year, where it was a little smaller, hardly any aussie acts, and had better NZ acts than this year (imo :)) so so modern were awesome in 08 - their latest songs have less sporadic moments of lose-yr-shit intensity that their fans really love. dan and handsome-bassist-aiden from so so were the drummer and bassist for bonaparte, whose music i totally fell in love with also. i missed golden axe! twice now! in fact i seemed to have missed a lot, that's what 4 nights and days of boozing does to you. didn't miss the aussie acts though, pretty much all my fave melbourne bands were there. no shit. the nintendo kiwii set was HILARIOUS. seeing evelyn sing kylie was gold. cameron potts singing ''LET'S GET PHYSICA-A-A-L!!'' in his roar also hilarious. i had so much fun. the thing i really like about camp is that everyone gets to be really close to the bands they like and watch, no pretentiousness at all. nobody is ever (hardly) an asshole to you. no drunk bogans shirtless. runaway golf cart causing injuries yes. i just love how blink keeps it all together, when so many things go wrong. best music festival ever.

i really like so so modern, tiger tones, disaster radio.. went to camp a low hum this year and loved a lot of bands that played there (mostly NZ bands which was awesome). d-rad played by the pool and there was a dance party of sorts in the water. tommy ill played on a boat. there were a lot of bands that were great but i was too much in a drunk haze to remember names.. grayson gilmour's solo stuff was pretty good too. best festival by far, EVER

oh no, it is a japanese reissue, it was $1300. a '66 vintage OLB would be very hard to come by!

is what mine looks like

ps. i was that dork in the lift that said your set ruled at wintertones

you could check out the ishibashi fender japan website.. there's an english version of it that you could kinda decipher, or just send them an email for quotes. ebay is a nice place to get sweet deals on japanese fenders from expat aussies there. i recently got a jaguar '66 in old lake placid blue with blocks and binding from a guy who scoured the shops there for me for it. it is HOT. slash i would try and link a picture but i am inept in doing so

Move to ban cars in Brunswick Street

they should just ban cars up to bell street, buy a bike you lazy car driving cunts

that's fucking ridiculous, not everyone that goes to that area live in that area, that's the problem with this stupid idea, they don't take into account people that need cars to travel. for example, my gf lives in north carlton. i live an hour out of the city. do i bike there? getting motorcycles and scooters and whatever shitty one person mover isn't going to help, and besides they're dangerous anyway. one day there won't be cars, planes or submarines and people will revert back to walking distances and being narrow minded cunts.

there's just gonna be more traffic on nicholson/smith. it's fucking hell at peak times already. they don't consider people that live out of the area and NEED a fucking car. idiot councils. they're making up for lost revenue on parking fines and fees by jacking up permits, i bet a parking fine there would cost $150 soon. people aren't going to be discouraged driving their cars around there, like textbooks cars are a necessity. they need to do something down their end and not tax the public. build more roads you fucking cunts!
