Shabbaz Palaces were totally fantastic. Their show at the Buffalo Club was unreal, as good as the Beastie Boys at Chevron back in the early 90s. Really proves to the kids how good hiphop can be, unlike the 'Skiphop' mediocrity that they get fed via JJJ.

They were fantastic. Video footage will emerge to testify. They were far from sludgy and screechy, more like groovy acid rock, performing covers of Motorhead's 'iron horse' and Can's 'mother sky', amongst their own material.
You missed out.

also they sounded like they just picked up any instruments that were around and played, didn't give a shit about the industry or sucking up to idiots.
It's interesting there aren't a million comments on this review, like there are for Tame Impala or Dappled Cities or Ben Lee or some other hipster rubbishbin!

It never ceases to amaze me why Melbourne musos go to a city because it's 'cool' and not for the actual practicalities of what they do, to actually find out their original city has more happening than these places that were groovy 20 years ago.
But it sounds good in interviews, I guess.

Billy Walsh from Cosmic Psychos and those blokes had more to do with Nirvana, than Wally bloody Meanie the bogan suckjob.
Funny how people record 'history'.

Salllly Seltmannn seems to have made a fair whack, what with Fiest covering her song for an i-pod ad! On top of that the government have given her generous handouts.
SO there are heaps of Aussie musos making heaps of cash.

I'm in America and it's bloody fuckern cheaper to buy CDs and shit on the Internet than in the record store! In fact the best place to buy shit is in these massive second-hand and remainder stores where you find gold, albiet with a bit clipped off it.
The indie record stores are the same there as here, but a bit bigger, the staff are the same rude, arrogant losers anywhere in the world you chose to go. The future is buy direct via Internerd or at gigs. Record stores should adapt and become like venue/social hubs for real people to meet and get laid.

A friend at work is in a sharehouse in East Brunswick and the rent is $180 per week for the ROOM!!!
FFS!!
I reckon all the musos living in Brunswick are secretly really, really rich!
