haven't read the article yet, but posting to say I'm firmly going for team Greek Yoghurt. If there's any foam hands / jerseys / team songs I can get my hands on, I'll be set.

lots coming up in Brisbane this month. Good ol' summer. Even if it is a summer where one night there can be three international acts of interest, and on the next there can be little of personal interest be it local/national/international.

Still haven't been to the Spring Hill Hotel as a band venue, really must check it out soon. Black Bear Lodge (former Troubadour) seem to be having quite a few live shows there again too, and some really good DJs too. Really enjoying seeing smaller shows at The Waiting Room too. Nice that there's gradually a (re?)realisation that people will actually go to gigs outside the valley.

This is true. Probably should put some posters up at rehearsal rooms too.

The financial component of this award will be particularly to those who will shortly be losing a steady income due to the closure of Billy Hyde stores.

The GRAMP Awards

Calling for nominees for the GRAMP awards, to celebrate the former greats of Australian music, and the RSLs/shopping centres/dilapidated fields of dreams that they now inhabit.

Although possibly forgotten within mainstream Australian music, these former giants of the recorded era are still hitting the circuit, playing sessions, and telling the kids that yes, honestly, they were famous back in 1968/1976/1989/2001/2010.

This prize has been established to recognise albums released in the last year, including re-interpretations of original hits (because the old label won't let you have the back catalogue back), new favourites (because the old label won't listen to your demos) and live performances (because any small to medium sized shopping centre worth its salt will have a stereo out function on their PA). If YOU can remember any of these albums, submit your nominations today.
