'Anyone Can...' Zine Launch

Discussion I Made about 3 years ago

I hope this appeals and interests, all sorts of Melbourne people and organisations have been involved in making this a sucess so far...

The ‘Anyone Can…’ zine Launch

After an incredibly successful three months of workshops, meetings and biscuit eating the City Library’s Street Press group finally releases the first issue of the collaborative zine, ‘Anyone Can…’ on the 6th September.

The workshops set up to give anyone interested in any aspect of Street Press an opportunity to meet, talk and create is embarking upon it’s first printed venture, a zine about… Zine making!

Issue one will also feature the CBD section of our handy fold out zineseters guide to Melbourne Google Map. We will also be welcoming ideas for issue two’s theme, all suggestions being entered into a magical hat and picked randomly to set the issue’s theme.   The plan for the day : Starting at 1pm at Sticky, 10 Campbell Arcade The best starting point for every keen zine maker in Melbourne, come and pick up your copy of ‘Anyone Can…’ for a paltry $4, enjoy some nibbles and browse the rest of Sticky’s extensive collection.

Then at 2.30pm join us at City Library, 253 Flinders Lane Where we shall colour in and decorate the covers of ‘Anyone Can…’, take the opportunity to see the facilities at City Library and of course, enjoy some more nibbles. We hope to see you there!

A laid back start to the evening with TWO CENT SIDESHOW step up the rock a few notches with THE BOX ROCKETS and the understated genius of MATT STOREY (The Papernecks)

City Library Street Press recommences

The City Library Street Press group is a free and weekly workshop held at Melbourne's City Library for all of those interested in creating their own zines, blogs, comics and all other aspects of Street Press. The first round of workshops hosted a plethora of interesting guests, judged a High Schools Zine competition and took control of the Library's Zine collection, and now we're recommencing indefinitely on Wednesday, 6 - 7.45pm...

Hope to see you there!

Cast wanted for radio play

Discussion I Made about 3 years ago

I've decided to start recording some of my older and newer plays...

The first one I want to record is a radio play, about a call in segment of a talk radio show where things may or may not appear as they seem... It's a short play, pretty basic, but it's currently the most fully formed and ready for production...

I need four actors, two guys, two girls...

There will be more productions in the future...

email me on Chris@chinchillamusic.com for more details

I'm looking to record on the 22nd June in Brunswick

Below The Surface June, bands needed!

Discussion I Made about 3 years ago

Hmm, I'm putting on a regular night at the Afterdark, the last Saturday of every month...

Now, I have no problems with the May, July or August dates, but am having some problems filling the June date, which is June 28th...

Is anyone interested? You have to be reasonably mellow, not too loud as there are some noise restrictions...
