my fixed bikes weigh maybe 9kgs, my mountainbike, notwithstanding, it's a heavier frame and everything feels like a tank, in comparison.

yea, there are lots of people riding fixed-gear, who shouldn't be riding at all, but it's more fun and that's the main reason i ride fixed.

melbourne isn't hilly, i rarely miss gears, and i don't have a some sillyarse low gearing, either.

it's true! fixed-gear bikes and velodrome cycling have only been in existence since '07.

i'll prob learn to spell, too.

again, you slow your pedaling, skid if you want to. if nothing else riding fixed has made me a lot more aware of my surroundings.

i wouldn't advise going straight to brakeless though. i'll prob through the brake back on mine in the next few days.
