Ok JRB, here you go.
In some ways a stop-start version of rugby - you can't pass forward when running with the ball. Teams (mostly) take turns to run their offensive teams, with their quarterback (the most important player) either handing the ball to a running back who tries to move forward without getting tackled, or passing to a wide receiver further up the field. Teams have 4 chances or “downs” to make 10 yards, otherwise they have to turn the ball over to the other side – they generally use the 4th down to punt upfield as a safety measure, so really it’s 3 plays. If they make the 10 yards it goes back to 1st down and they keep going. If they manage to get the ball in the end zone, it’s a touchdown and worth 6 points, plus the chance to kick between the sticks for another point (usually foregone conclusion, so it’s almost always 7 points). They can also try for field goals if they’re within range (up to about 50 yards)
The defensive team tries to tackle the quarterback with the ball, which is known as “sacking” the quarterback, tackle the running back when he’s got the ball, or intercept the pass to wide receivers before they catch it.
The big match ups in this is Tom Brady (Pats quarterback) vs Eli Manning (Giants QB) – NY probably have a better passing game, but squeaked through the playoffs while New England have only lost 3 times all season (one of which was to New York).

Am I alone in not getting all the hype over Skyrim? Yeah, I'm sure it's a massive game and does what it does well, but what if you're not all that interested in the concept? Same reason I never really wanted to play WoW. Yet it's on just about everyones' top 10 lists for the year.

Every wedding I've played at (from smaller affairs through to 300+ Macedonian weddings) will fill the dancefloor for Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling. It's a freaking terrible song, but it works every time in case you're in trouble.

Re: Saucyjack on Millionaire - yeah, they tape a few months before screening. You sign a confidentiality agreement and can't tell anyone what happens. If you win cash moneyz and your episode doesn't screen for whatever reason, you don't get the cash.

Pros: Losing my iPhone on Friday night and some of the good people of Meredith handing it in on Sunday. Thought I was looking at buying a replacement for sure. Scavenging about 3 perfectly good chairs at 4pm yesterday. One of our neighbours reckons he pulled a massive 8 man tent, although I had yet to see any evidence.
Cons: Only getting one free cocktail at the Bavaria party Saturday afternoon. They seemed to go real quick. Minor gripe, really. Getting to the queue at 9.30ish Friday morning and missing out on Bush Camp by a fair bit. :( Still, Top Camp wasn't all that bad - we got a latecomer to buy some shade at Bunnings. The travel time from site > Meredith town - stop/start pretty much the whole way, took about an hour. Then hitting one lane on the Geelong bypass made me real stabby.
All up a great time, no huge complaints.

David Mamet's House of Games is pretty good neo-noir as well.
'Hogans' - hipster bogans

Hey Jose, those dudes are models and one of them goes out with Erin McNaught. You'd be more likely to find these guys at the Ivy than anywhere else.
The question remains - are they truly bogans?

Anyone seen those Coopers cans around town? They were selling them at Harvest (for the first few hours).

So it's that time of year again. Ours is tonight (love the school night party to really make me stabby) and it's fancy dress to the theme of dead celebrities. Kill me now.
