If you want something fast Modi, perhaps try Damn Small Linux as an OS. With a size of 50Mb, you know it's gonna be very fast, and that's still with a graphical interface.

Puppy Linux is another one that might be good for your machine, and if you do run Linux your chances of malware drop to almost zero.

The gecko in the picture de.foxus posted has obviously lost his tail at some point. The regeneration thing always reminds me of the story of the guy that regrew part of his finger with some pig gut powder given to him by his brother. Though there is still some debate about its efficacy.

I have some good XP versions. I'm enjoying Ultimate XP by Johnny atm. But it's not what you would call stripped down, for that I'd possibly try TinyXP. In both cases, torrents & Peer Guardian are your friend.
