Kingsmill emailed me out of the blue once (few years back now) to tell me how much he loved our (Seconds) song and could he have more info about the band, and then . . . nothing.

It led us to this conclusion: I guess a bunch of 30-somethings from Melbourne aren't as interesting as some 16-year-olds from regional wherever to the J's. There really does seem to be a thing they look for, which is dispiriting if you make good music but don't necessarily ''play the game''. It'd be nice to think that a dude with power likes your song, then he plays it, simple as that.

Funny thing, timing: We've split now but you'd think they'd flog us now considering 2 members of the band were nephews of our Prime Minister. Then again maybe not.

End of my ramble.

Back in the day, it was for the duration of the first slab. Then we'd go buy a second and set to work finishing that off.

Have all their records bar the newie . . . and I think the last couple have tapered off noticeably. Saw a couple of their shows way back when and they were awesome, WERE being the operative word. Snowflake Anusfingers can bite me – I'm giving up on them.

See You On The Other Side and Deserter's Songs in particular will always be great though.
