I love this venue. Seen Milhouse and Smith Street Band there a million times. it's the only bright spot on Paramatta Road.

I love these guys so much (Smith Street Band, I mean. King Cannons I can take or leave, but it's the thought that count).

This is classic Smith Street.

The problem with food at the Vanguard is that the burger place next door is perfect. There's no way anyone can compete with a Greased Lightning - a cheeseburger with halumi. Plus those chips!

And the Sando is okay when the bands aren't on. It's unpretentious and there's pinball. You can't drop into the Vanguard the same way.
