Isn't the logical step beyond identifying the similarities to identify the differences. The fact that he sounds nothing like Nick Cave on his second album probably merits mention if you wanna have a holistic look at whatever he's doing. It's not only easy to get bogged down in a Nick Cave comparison, it's just plain regressive. And that trainwreck GP gig was so far away from what he has sounded like it was exotic.
