I didn't mind Rat City... but then again I liked a lot of Iggy Pop's 80s solo work which it was pretty much a straight lift of. Saw him live and it didn't translate so well but was still a lot of fun.

New album!?! Sweet. They were great live a couple of years back so clearly still have it. Be nice to hear Greg rocking out a bit more than on his recent releases with Detroit Cobras, Reigning Sound, etc.

The Mighty Boosh - Mk II

It's a bit too much of what turned me off about latter seasons of MB. Too much Vince, not enough Howard. There's the odd decent gag/character which is more in line with Noel's rather surreal solo stand-up but most of it just falls flat. It's like he's trying for something as absurd as Tim and Eric but not quite getting there.

Pretty sure that covers album has been floating around for a while now. A mate of mine played it for me on vinyl the other night (and he's had it since Xmas). It's pretty much what you'd expect... some great stuff and some pretty underwhelming stuff too. All pretty true to the source material.

The Darkness: troubled Justin in Rehab

No digging the new track myself. It's got all of the bits you'd want in a Darkness track but the tune just isn't up to their usual standard for me. Will hold out for the album but on first listen it sounds a bit too much like Hot Leg.

Hmmm, I'd heard this was final. Either way I'm happy with the lineup. Loads of acts I wanted to see who I've not seen before and a few I'll be interested to check out. The top end of the lineup definitely suffers from there being so many festivals in Europe this year and could probably do with something a bit more fun but otherwise I'm glad to be going.

Live announcements on their Twitter now.

Even if there's not been another big headliner there's been loads of great mid-bill stuff added now. Looks like easily as strong a line-up as last year if not even better in my opinion!

The Cure just added. Playing a two hour set of 'greatest hits' and an above average number of cuts from 'Wish' which has an anniversary of some sort this year. Nice! I was thinking they needed another head liner or two to go along with Bjork and this definitely fits the bill. Was hoping for the Beastie Boys but oh well.

Hoodoo Gurus Invite The Sonics, Redd Kross To Aus

Comment I Made 21 days ago

For whoever it was that asked I saw the Sonics a couple of years back and they were great. Old sure but they still sounded pretty bloody bang on to me. Played all the hits and even dropped in a new song which sounds a bit like Airbourne rather disturbingly. Would totally go and see them again if they were playing in London. I'd see them if I was in Australia then too but I have a mortgage so I guess I allowed.
