personally, i have nothing to lose or gain from bringing this up, nor do i feel the need to type an essay explaining why i have nothing to explain.

nine years of pushing shit up a hill losing thousands and thousands of dollars each year touring Europe, US and Australia. And for what?

if you really feel this way, well...i am astonished. i did not enter words into this message board to stir shit, i've been thinking about this for awhile, and the motivation behind why one would act this way not only interests me - it bothers me. why? because it is contagious. it sets an example for others...one that may not be able to reversed. talk of JJJ is appropriate because said station is nothing more than a brand, and we are in danger of aping this - with actions that are worse, dressing mutton as lamb, but taking moral high-ground nonetheless.

i love music. we have the power now, the majority of the people that were once in control are for the most part, obsolete. all i am trying (and by the looks of it, failing) to get across is that we shouldn't abuse this power. 'cause if we do, we'll be in the same position that we've been in for previous decades. marginalised and bitter.

I'm just trying to keep the kids happy, touring bands i like and supporting the local scene, you know, the usual stuff.......

i think the kids would be HAPPIER to not have to sit through your music every fucking time you organise shows. i understand. it's fun. and you're promoting your label.

but c'mon. don't you think the punters AND the bands would benefit more from different supports other than yourself and your friends? you're presenting a very limited view of this country's music for people attending the shows and the bands touring.

fuck splitting hairs. i've seen this sort of self-serving behaviour too much. you're setting an example. i don't believe it to be a good one.
