They played a very short set (30 mins tops) of mostly stuff I hadn't heard, which must be off the upcoming album. They were great when they got going, but for the most part were really quiet - often the nuances were lost amongst the general din of talkers around me.

I had the distinct impression that this was a tune-up tour to test out the new material and get everything sounding right before playing proper shows. I hope that they tour again sometime soon, because I thought that the Juggernauts really outshone them for stage presence and the general quality of sound - which is sad, because I love M83 and really aren't that keen on MJ.

But hey, there were some great new tracks in there. Can't wait for the album.

I'm desperate to see this (or the other melbourne) show too... please PM me anyone who wants to sell their ticket. Or their friend's ticket. Or housemate's. Or grandmother's.
