I've flicked off Chinese Demo-crazy (you snooze, you lose) in disgust.
It's Rock for Light time now. FVK.
Please, continue.
That be a quote from earlier in the thread, Oldy McTalentless.
Street of Dreams is awesome.
Then the intro to If The World starts ... and destroys everything.
Inactivist FTW.
Same overblown bullshit as always for G'n'R, without the gritty blues that made Appetite For Destruction halfway listenable.
Totally.
There was an excellent article in US GQ (I know, don't laugh) called 'We All Forgot the Condom' a few months back.
Worth a read if anyone is remotely interested in the progress of R&D and the concurrent rapid increase in complacency in Western countries.
I'm dropping copies off at Missing Link today or tomorrow. Either way, from Sunday they'll be in there for Melbourne kids.
For Sydney kids, tenzenmen distro - hit it !
Every time I hear the opening minute of the CD I remember this very experience I had when I saw them jamming that song out at Oh Deago.
I took along a friend of mine who emigrated out from Syria a few years back and has only really seen live music for the last few years. I think he was pretty shocked by the sight of these two tuff cunce from K-Flat reprazenting pretty hard in dirty Johnston Street. And they just played that opening riff over and over and over and over and over ... was awesome.
Oh, and the error is still there this morning.
Must have fired all the M+N lurkers.
Hey poprocks, yeah, I know the band and the record. It's definitely 'common', but I think, particularly because of the cover, people often make the mistake and substitute in 'modern'.
IMHO, it's an ok record - the vocals are a tough ask for me, though. Pink Eyes grates on me.
Cupojo makes a good point but I still think that you should vote with your cash. Don't buy it, don't read it, avoid it online.
If circulation declines, they have to make changes of some notable sort.
I've been loving the fact that, when I did see The Age online today, they were running the Chemistry of Common Life as an 'edgy' feature album on the front page.
Except that it was called 'The Chemistry of Modern Life'.
Idiots.
PS - watch some Fairfax hack lurker fix this error in ... 10 minutes.
