Pavement was the highlight for me but i am a massive fanboy, so i understand that people who are not may have snored or wondered at the value of this particular 90s nostalgia trip. i was in heaven. i screamed. from joy and from being socked in the back of the head by a full beercan. everyone around me was laughing. i don't understand humans.

really enjoyed the Lou Barlow solo set which was intense and beautiful... and Jeffrey Lewis was the find of the festival for me, i had never heard his music before. Loved his folkier stuff most and his wordsmithery. i rarely like ''funny'' music but he nails it.

Tame Impala, Dirty Projectors and Dinosaur Jr were very impressive, in their own ways... but none of them surprised me too much... but i thought Calexico did the best job of winning over the crowd and would have won themselves some new fans. really wish i was going to the Thornbury sideshow now. jack ladder tried to hard and i couldn't gather any feelings toward Spaced Invadas.

the weather wasn't a highlight. i pushed through but it was hard to stay positive in a downpour. when it cleared it was magical, like during Calexico... but otherwise it was a massive downer. dealing with people unable to handle their trip/alcohol/violent tendencies/selfishness is difficult enough when it is dry. but for every selfish cunt who ignored the 'no dickhead' rule there were a few more who stepped up and acted like true champs. so, yeah c'est la vie.

i wouldn't be upset if they made the amphitheater a total furniture-free zone. but then that would be another in the long list of rules, and to roughly paraphrase the graffiti i saw in a toilet cubicle - ''what's with all the rules Hitler!?''

actually Jess would prefer to work at Gold 104, rather than MMM, as would I. We actually spoke about this at Meredith. i'm only mentioning it here in case anyone who currently works there would like to hire us.
