Hal's the man. There's this one song by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band called Smell of Incense that he drums on that has some of my favourite drumming in a rock song ever.

I second all of Adam's. I would also add Dave Grohl, Danny Goffy (from Supergrass) and Dave Rowntree (from Blur).

I caught this last night. Some of the stories behind the songs were interesting, for example I never knew Dive for Your Memory was about Robert and Lindy's relationship.
