I saw them at The Palace which was amazing, and then The Corner a few years later which wasn't as good - so same story as Sydney.

The Big Day Out on the first tour (same one as Palace) was the best show I think I saw them play - Yow crowdsurfed all the way to the mixing desk and back, all the while with his mic plugged in screaming

I CAN SWIM!

I CAN SWIM!

Gold.

Yep that definitely happened at Festy Hall.

Layne came on really fucked up, dropped his mic into the crowd mid-way thru the 2nd song, then said 'Hello Sydney'

the crowd goes 'Boooo'

Layne 'Oh shit. What are you? Wollongong?'

Crowd. 'Boooo'

Then the drummer cracked the shits halfway thru the gig because Layne was so fucked up, kicked his drum kit over and stormed off. While the roadies were frantically trying to set the kit back up, Jerry asked people from the crowd to come up on stage for a 'guitar solo competition'.

Then I think Suicidal's drummer came on and played an encore of 'Rooster' and another song with them and that was it.

Biggest train wreck of a gig I have ever seen, a million times worse than the notorious Evan Dando gig at the Hi Fi about 5 years ago.

I did hear that they played the Palace two nights later with Suicidal's drummer for the whole gig and blew the roof off the place. But being a young one at the time, I'll never know.

I was at that gig Manchild.

Blew my young mind that a band could fall apart so badly on stage at a 'concert'.

Suicidal Tendencies on the other hand blew my young mind for all the right reasons.

It was pretty funny how all throught AIC set people were still calling out for ST.

Ryan Adams

I'm torn about going to this. I love Ryan, and think the new album Ok, but The Palais show was the most disappointing show I've seen since Lou Reed's 'Ecstasy' tour.

I feel so burnt by that show, I don't think I can fork out $75 on the risk it will be as bad, or worse.

I think I might hold onto my memories of the brilliant 'Gold' tour and the awesomely shambolic one around the time of Cold Roses.

So the 'Boys' had their first rehearsal today. Wonder how it went?

I read Rod's touring bass player will be playing with them. Surely they could find someone of the same pedigree from the old London scene to fill Ronnie Lane's parts?

Still, I would love to see the four of them playing those songs, no matter who is playing bass.

He wasn't charged, he wasn't even in the country at the time of the offence.

It turns out the rapist was a guy who went around impersonating rock stars and told his victim he was Rikki Rockett...

I've already spent $500 on tickets in the past six weeks so my budget is beyond gone.

Besides, nothing could top WEEN, except maybe playing there again.
