As you will know, US doom-drone behemoth SUNN 0))) will be performing a HUGE must-see show together with Japanese monsters BORIS at the Hi-fi Bar on Wednesday 9th May. However we are pleased to announce a Melbourne-only intimate 'improv' show that will include collaborations with members of black metal legends Mayhem and Striborg! This show will be completely different to the Hi-fi show and strictly limited to capacity in the lush surrounds of Melbourne's newest venue The Toff in Town on Tuesday 8th May

This ritual will feature the first public appearance of Tasmania's Sin Nanna aka STRIBORG, making a special & rare live collaboration with Attila Csihar, (legendary vocalist of Mayhem), Aussie avant-maverick Oren Ambarchi, and Greg Anderson & Stephen O'Malley of Sunn 0))). Blackened low-end psychedelics not for the faint hearted - a one-time event not to be missed!!!

Revolver Upstairs is pleased to announce a special guest DJ as part of their Wednesday “Revamp” rock night. Spiral Stairs (aka Scott Kannberg) of Preston School of Industry & Pavement fame will be playing a DJ set on Wednesday 28th February along with “Revamp” regular DJs Blaberunner, Commission Flats and Whitt (Spiderbait).

Spiral Stairs was the guitarist and co-founder of the seminal 1990s US indie-rock band Pavement. He currently has his own band called Preston School of Industry on Trifekta Records. Spiral has toured here numerous times with Pavement, P.S.O.I. and as a solo artist. He is currently working on a new album set for release later this year.

The San Franciscan art-noise trio are back with an ambitious new album and a return Australian tour in April. Heading to Sydney for the Great Escape Festival, they will also play headline shows around the country. See tour dates below.

Hailed as one of the most inventive bands in indie rock today, Deerhoof have impressed many with their 2007 release, ‘Friend Opportunity’ (Trifekta). The band’s most accessible and imaginative record to date, Greg, Satomi and John continue to push the boundaries of pop music, as they have done for over ten years. Deerhoof are dizzyingly creative, with their monster riffs, sporadic changes, organ driven grooves, oblique lyrics, sweet soprano vocals and explosions of noise.

In 2006, the band were handpicked for US tours with The Flaming Lips and Radiohead. They became a fast favourite in Australia, after their jawdropping live shows in February last year. And now they are back!
