I wonder if they will continue to be based from Melbourne while they do this or if they will make them move to Sydney. I am betting on the latter.

This makes me so incredibly fucking sad. Dean was one of the most genuine and generous souls I have come across in this industry. He really knew how to bring out the best in people. He never lost his enthusiasm, his excitement for finding new bands and his generosity to them was infectious. Whenever I came across him I'd be reminded there really are some truly awesome people in the music industry, amongst the many dickheads. He will be missed terribly by so many that ever got to work with or meet him. My heart really goes out to Linda and the girls and all the Magic Dirt crew. So sad to lose such an incredible person, and so young. The world can be so stupidly unfair.

Word is there will be a memorial later this week, details are still being sorted, with an announcement in The Age on Tuesday probably. Will be sure to post details for those wanting to pay tribute in person once they come to hand.
