Just wanted to add my 2c. Bit drunk so forgive me...
My Swans background is that I've been a fan since the mid-80s, having been introduced to them by my old buddy Steve ''Pig'' Morgan, the same guy who introduce me to feedtime, Big Black, No, and an entire era of UK post punk like GoF, Wire, TV Personalities etc. I am eternally grateful to this man. And so, I LOVED the Forum show. Very impressed, although disappointed they didn't play 'Reeling the Liars In', especially considering it's on the new album (and happens to be my favourite track).
The opening was a perfect 30 minute (it wasn't 40 minutes people, I looked at time when it started, and checked again when it finished - exactly 30 minutes) segue into what was to unfold. The entire 2 & 1/4 set was fucking LOUD, intense and brilliant. I had already bought tickets to the EBC show before seeing 'em at the Forum and so was delighted to hear Gira say they'd be playing for 3+ hours and doing a different set the following night.
Swans played for 2 & 1/4 hours at the East and I thought it was a better show than the previous night. The volume was right, there was no stupid lighting theatrics and subsequent Gira tanties, the band seemed more coherent (possibly due to the previous night performance?) and most importantly of all, there was much less ''orchestration'' evident by Gira. But it didn't feel like a different setlist, I would call it different interpretations of the same set, played in a different sequence - but still no fucking 'Reeling the Liars In' !!!
I had pondered whetehr this track not being played was due to it being such a vocal-driven number, whereas the Swans show seemed to be mostly instrumental-based. My curiousity got the better of me and I had to ask Michael why no 'Reeling...' at either show. The response ''We didn't feel like playing it'' didn't really help me understand why they wouldn't play such a great song from an album they all played on?
But this small complaint aside, thank you Swans, Michael, and Psyche for making it possible - my ears are still ringing.

They should've been added to the Night Terrors show tonight.
Speaking of which, anyone know what time Night Terrors are on?

Oh, and fucking brilliant gig. I was so thrilled they played 'What We All Want'.
Agree wholeheartedly Frankie.
Very disappointed there's no extra show.
As soon as they finished I just wanted to be seeing them again.

Why are they ''dull as fuck to watch''?
I thought the Greenhornes were fucking dull at the NSC but I seemed to be on my own with that opinion.
I'm loving the new Black Mountain album and look forward to seeing 'em Monday night.
TV programs that got cancelled too early...

Does My Disco 'Little Joy' also count as a 2011 release due to the vinyl not being available until January 15th 2011?
