Summer Sweat review from The Wire.
''Pairs are a duo from Shanghai who play music that sound a lot like the very earliest emo: Rites of Spring etc. The guitar work is heart – on – sleevey – a lot of major 7ths and 9ths – the drumming fast, the vocals hurled through a megaphone. There’s a song about Bacardi, another about Chinese weddings, and another about being disappointed by the Tate Modern. Summer Sweat could be the most straightforward record reviewed in this column ever, but it’s great, in that it makes you feel 14, illegally wasted and in love. Plus there’s a DVD of live footage, and the gigs look insane: kids doing this half-mosh-half boogie thing like the can’t work out whether to wriggle or brawl, while a boy wanders the room waggling a torch as a lo-fi strobe.''

F just posted this online: 嘿各位!

Google translate it, but it's asking for Chinese people to interview her for our next release.
It's strange, in one of the biggest countries in the world, there are like 4 or 5 Chinese language music sites. Weak.

''Anyone can go to the contact page of a site and shoot them an email. I’ve read emails from band that read like some rat tailed sleazy PR agent like ‘To whom it may concern, I play in Shanghai ’s first and foremost best band. We have the punk rock mentality but the power up hooks melodies to keep you rocking along and we’ve played at the Hard Rock café in Singapore and placed first in a battle of the bands sponsored by Gibson’ – what the fuck is that? Speak like a human.''

Pearl of wisdom right there.
Talks about being a band in China, local musicians and merch bullshit.

Anyone live or have friends living in Amsterdam that wouldn't mind a house guest for 2 nights come early December? I'll supply Chinese cigarettes. PM me.
