First gig you ever went to

The first gig for me was some dodgy band comp at the Castle Hill Showgrounds in 1988.
First international concert - Transvision Vamp, supported by The Hummingbirds, at the Hordern - 1989, aged 13.

Yes, but when you add in the cost of his medical treatment, Hank's treatment, ridiculous joyrides in empty carparks, the carwash, Saul's retainer ... There's a couple of million there. the rest is probably with Saul or Jesse. We were trying to figure this out last night.

I think Hank knows that Walt is involved. How can he not suspect something now?

Mule - At first I found it really hard to deal with the freaks. Coming from a long stint in the private sector, it was hard to adjust but now I just go along with it.
Alec M - it really depends. If someone's looking to go straight from their course to the State Library, then that's pretty unrealistic. I find that the university jobs tend to be the most competitive. But public libraries aren't too bad generally (again, it depends on which one). And once you're in the public library system, even if it is just as a library assistant or a casual, the chances of getting more interviews and getting a better job somewhere down the track improve.
Mushymouth - gloves on the circ desk are a good idea, I know a few people who do that. Whereas I've developed a slight obsession with hand sanitiser.

Thanks Shhh. I agree with you as well. My favourite part of the job is helping people (with information beyond toilet requests!) but I don't necessarily like the people that come in.
Wintertime - do you mean RFID? Librarians do so much more than loan, return and shelve.

I am too!
I work in public libraries. After a 5 year stint in a fantastic private library, my position was made redundant and I've had to start again, new qualification etc. I am now over qualified but hopefully I can put it to use.
Public libraries have some advantages (calling first dibs on new releases, more likely to get purchase suggestions through if you work there, excellent working hours, RDOs, long service after 5 years, reasonable pay, easy to find work in) and a few disadvantages e.g. being enthused about hosting rhyme time sessions, handling some tough social problems with no experience or training, having to tell people where the nearest public toilet is 50 times a day. As for conspicuous mental problems in other staff, I've only met a couple of people in this bracket. Most of my colleagues are alright and thankfully I can dodge the others!

Slothman - I don't think it'd work on me!
Oh god, I hope S5 isn't delayed until 2013. The tension of just waiting a week for the next episode is too much!

It is punishing, but I think that's its appeal. The viewer is never clear on who to side with and to be honest, who'd want to side with most of them? I don't think anyone ever scores wins. Even if they do, it's short-lived.
At the moment I'm cheering on Hank but have always found the character obnoxious.
