My housemate just tried to boil some rice but left it too long as he was playing Halo... it completely dried up (didn't quite burn, thanks to non stick pot) and made a pefectly formed cake. We turned it upside down, added soy sauce and chili as toppings then cut it up like a pizza. Interesting, not good interesting though.

Been very quiet lately. I always look forward to new work by this guy but who knows when that'll be? A Sleepy Jackson reformation would be a real treat!

Growing to love this pub as a music venue, at least. Awesome acoustics and atmosphere! I've heard mixed things about the food (mostly good - especially the Poutine). I can't help wondering if they'd benefit by having a cheaper beer option (Carlton on tap, perhaps) and a snack or 2 under $10 (maybe a small Poutine or other nibbles - a few of their menu options could easily be downsized, I'm sure, and a lot of people are keen for something less expensive and filling while boozing it up).

That said, the organic lager tastes great, the food looks/smells very appetising, the bar staff are tops and they seem to be doing really well so good on 'em!

CarteBlanche - Yes, I reckon they're a great band too! Did you see them play in Ireland? They hardly ever make it down to Melbourne (they've cancelled a couple of times, recently for a December gig). I have a cassette called 'Corronation' which I've listened to many times.
