Sir Rich Responds To FBi

Comment I Made about 2 years ago

oh I forgot my point. More specialists shows will draw more passionate fans and supporters.

IE. give me a good show about Australian music hostory that I can live without - I will pay for that without a second thought.

See, I can be constructive.

Wow, this login still works.

Levins - you're view is what made me quit FBi. I was involved in FBi since I was 17 as well, but the station took off in one elitist ''youth'' direction. You're right it's a community and it's one that so many people are not a part of. This Ask Richard Campaign - never have I seen anything preach to the converted.

I look at people I know and I wonder why they are not listening to FBi, or don't even know about it. FBi should be cutting edge - but it's not. I think of Kristen, my feend who knows more about Reggae than anyone. Or my friend Sean who is a scholar of all things power pop and country. Both love and absorb music. Bith still buy music magazines! But they don't give one cent to FBi.

Magazines are a good analogy, actually. Would you pay for the Metro? Or Drum Media? Even if you say yes, it would not be much. But what if you're an old soul - do you buy Mojo? Or country - No Depression? Design magazines. Niche.

You have to give people something to love and something to pay for. That wishy washy idea of community - what? I'm giving my money so Levins can have the same Ask richard t-shirt as the person standing next to him?

I can't believe that renewed my membership in February, as a passionate sponsor. Good to see my money was thrown into Ask Richard. And I still have not received my weekly emails, no matter how many times I've asked. But I want to be on there so I can keep a track of what's going on in Sydney. The flaw of that thinking is - FBi does not represent what's going on in Sydney. Just one small part of it.

I listened to FBi for a couple of years after it launched and except for the two Stuarts - never learnt a thing about music. Some of the tunes are nice, but I can listen and discover new music in a million ways today.

We busted our balls for FBi because we needed radio. We needed exposure for Sydney musicians. We did not need a home for the Sydney indie rock community. But that's what we got.

I am filled with so much sadness when I think of FBi. I wish I could look back at my time there with any good feeling but I don't.

It is a fantastic song. I kind of wish the intro wasn't there and just get straight to the song.

It is such a sweet song.

They have made some Rhianna Umbrellas. they will probably be girly and expensive.
