Fantastic show.
the Karen Dalton/ traditional cover is called ''Katie Cruel'', spruik.
hi whale! hope the exams are going well...
hi prison! Don't know about a solo show in Rome; will depend on whether I can buy a cheap banjo somewhere between Dunedin and Italy. But I'll see what I can do (see you in London in the meantime, perhaps).
oh and thanks for your kind complimens charlescharles.
Anonymous, those were my mixes- sorry that they didn't actually consist of Van Halen's ''jump'' repeated several times.
for the ''ornithology'' cd, the artists, in order, were: yo la tengo, beatles, shearwater, nina nastasia, tom waits, a hawk and a hacksaw, sparklehorse, the triffids, boards of canada, jim white, the frames, a silver mt zion memorial orchestra and tra-la-la band, animal collective, gringo motel, princess one point five.
I'd meant to put the national's ''geese of beverley road'' on there too but forgot.
Hope you like it!
(I'm still waiting for whatever's coming my way...hint hint)
mine will be hand delivered this evening- be warned, darlington person!
for anyone interested, the whole album is now streaming at last.fm. Enjoy!
oh good! I don't know the blog writer personally, they're a friend-of-a-friend, but I'll try and get in touch with them. I think it's a great idea.
look what I found!
hopefully this is all above-board.
oh that was messy. sorry. looking forward to the gig though.
