last night was fucking freezing in edinburgh, this weather sucks ass. Scottish summers? non existant!
i'm flying in from edinburgh (where i live presently), will be attending with dork, who lives in dublin, i will also be crashing on her floor
hi evelyn and ben! i'm flying to dublin to see you guys play, and looking forward to it! see youse soon
oh and @ Octopus Diamond in Edinburgh. The shame is that Faust are playing Edinburgh the same night, and thats where i'll be
allright i saw this yesterday.
not really impressed, went for about an hour too long, was funny in parts but really isn't even nearly his best work. mulholland drive was better i rekon. 2.5 stars, i'm sitting on the fence with this one.
hey thanks! 31, how fucking depressing!
i start a new job on sunday so unfortunately i cant go anymore. big waste of € that was!
ok i think i'm coming down for shellac on the 17th, who wants to put me up for the night?
saw this last night and really it seems the english are doing a heaps better job at sci fi than the yanks at the moment (for example childrem of men).
i thought it was a great flick, so many nods to other great sci fi's. eg 2001: dave and hal. and did anyone feel a nod to ken russells film 'altered states' with the dude running around at the end?
when the characters died by sunlight it was kinda like they see god before they die, which is why they didnt die immeadiately i feel.
but the visuals are truly stunning, the 'ladies and gentlemen, Mercury!' gave me chills, as did the awesome soundtrack and foley work.
not as good as children of men, but definately a film worthy of a sci fi dvd collection (it shat on event horison)
oh and as far as dodgy science goes, who gives a fuck, its science FICTION
granada was rad, full of hippys!! oh yeah and some crazy alhambra thingy ;)
