the ''counter-culture'', which will continue to exist and thrive in underground and alternative music spaces.

and i'm sure all eight of you there will be very happy.

Is Live Music Flushing Out Pokies?

Comment I Made 4 days ago

world bar's not a typical pub example. it's more a big nightclub anyway, with backpackers who drink lots and don't gamble a large element of their clientele.

and as dan rule says, music punters don't play pokies, but he'll also tell you the banks won't loan money to any pub that doesn't have pokie licences, such is the perceived worth of the damn things.

Why was FUCK KNUCKLE banned?

the place needed a real representative of the mining lobby. i looked forward to his opinion on the resources tax in relation to the consumption of VB. in capitals.

oh, and it ceased being funny about a month ago.

worst reviews ever II: the worstening

ahem. thank you, 'friends'.

no shaun, i said a couple of radiohead songs have been improved by reinvention on ukelele. this says more about the songs than me. i eagerly await an album of the works of old thommy one-eye on banjo. or kazoo. or anything, but having to listen to them in their original form.

and block: no. unfixed.

as birthday present, friend is taking me is to see this:

august: osage county. it looks good.

for encouragment friend included review with a couple of quotes underlined, heavily.

'everything you never said to your parents is here for the taking'

and

'a lacerating study of midlife crisis'

yes, she obviously knows me.

Seven ukelele-based Radiohead covers

much as that description horrified me, not to mention the dresden dolls element, when forced to review it, i found some of it a little charming.

disclaimers: that does not mean i am likely to listen to it again, and (two) i have never, and will never, write for eleven.

Best albums you've heard this year

the national's high violet is still the winner of my year.

and then there's crow, jason walker, lazy susan, and the current first listening i'm having of gareth liddiard's solo record suggests it's a contender...

much more in suburbia than the inner-west.

inner west suburbia - lilyfield, leichhardt and annandale rather than the 'hipper' newtown etc...
