Great Debate #4: Horse Stories Vs Ocean Songs
Comment I Made 13 days ago
They're both great but I actually think Whatever You Love, You Are is their best album. It's their most melodic and doesn't go for too long. Mick Harvey thinks so, too.
Best Clips Of 2011

Adalita had some nice clips, like Perfection and Fool Around and we mustn't forget Dazza had Butterfly Bones at the start of the year.

Out of all the films I've seen of his - Code Unknown, The Piano Teacher, Caché (Hidden), The White Ribbon - I like his first, The Seventh Continent, the best. It really stuck with me.

The You Am I Thread

Their singles always had some gold on the B-sides. I think the Trike single was the first thing of theirs I ever purchased, and man, I dug the extras.
A sign of how good a band is is how good their b-sides are. I recently created a compilation of b-sides and odd tracks (Be Prepared, Trike, Boulder Fair, Open All Night, songs from Idiot Box), but I recall heaps of good songs that aren't so easy to find now (Spit, You Want It So Bad, Six).
I wish they'd just release them all as one album, but Tim once said they'd have to die before that happens.
Treble Treble #3: Cashing In Or Selling Out?

If I hear Gaslight Radio in a Just Jeans commercial or Super Wild Horses in a Bonds ad I think it's good. These bands deserve more exposure and more money to continue to do what they do well.
Lilley's S.mouse To Perform Live
Comment I Made about 7 months ago
Since S.Mouse has taken full control of his own art, his popularity (like the Angry Boys ratings) has steeply declined. But if just one heart is touched by 'Grandmother Fucker' then the trials and struggles of S.Mouse will have been worth it.
You Am I - You Am I

I've found every You Am I album since Hi-Fi Way has been less good than the last (though that's not as damning as it sounds. It's a fairly common thing.) but I think this album breaks the pattern. It's their most consistent album they've made in ages. I'm really surprised and impressed by how good it is.
