First digital release of some very rare post punk material from the M Squared label. Recorded between 1979 and 1983, these tracks were either given very limited cassette release or were unreleased prior to the intervention of German label Vinyl On Demand in 2009. Label head Frank Maier invited the original M Squared partners (Michael Tee, Mitch Jones, Patrick Gibson) and Shane Fahey from The Makers of The Dead Travel Fast to select tracks for a vinyl-only collectors edition box, Pardon me for barging in like this... With the assistance of Ascension Records (who issued the very well received box of M Squared's slightly higher profile material, Terrace Industry in 2010) the lovingly remastered material has now been repackaged for the turntable-deprived among us, in high quality digital formats.Housed in cool miniature gatefold vinyl lp style cover with 8 page booklet.

PETER THOMAS SOUND ORCHESTER ~ The Big Boss (OST) (Ascension Records ANLP 036)
Very limited edition of 500, soundtrack album with two individually numbered 12'' exclusive prints in an edition of 500. Officially licenced release. Released only in Australia on vinyl.
The Big Boss (aka The Fists of Fury) was the film which started Bruce Lee’s international career. Director Lo Wei’s movie premiered in Hong Kong in 1971, but its international success didn’t begin until 1973. The German distributor Cinerama tried to subtly adapt the film to western visual habits. This was done mainly through an altered soundtrack. It was supposed that the original score of Chinese composer Wang Fu-Ling would sound far too oriental for Europeans. That was the moment when Peter Thomas came into play. He had been commissioned to conceive the new soundtrack. As a result, his music can be heard in the film worldwide with the exception of China. So Thomas’ soundtrack virtually became the original score of The Big Boss. Previously the only available soundtrack for this movie since it’s original cinematic release has only been Wang Fu-Ling’s. Now 37 years later, the Peter Thomas score is released on LP for the very first time!

Concordia did the freight $498 US and we pre paid that but then got another 400 in local charges + GST so that was a waste of time.
I got boned on charges from Concordia recently too - ended up doubling the price
you wanna get quoted door to door freight, you most likely got quoted freight to sydney airport...then you have to pay for customs agent to clear it etc...unless you can do it yourself. ups and fed ex prices are door to door.

if you are in the 'wrong' neighbourhood in los angeles any police interaction involves a gun drawn on you, and perhaps you kneeling, hands locked behind your head until you are 'cleared'.
