I never really liked the stores at all, but Stage Systems are a pretty massive part of the Australian music industry as far as backline goes.. If they disappear (which i can't imagine they will.. Possibly being the only part of the business that makes any money) it'd be a big gap to fill.

Remember when Drumcraft in Surry Hills was still all drum heaven and romantic? I remember following drummer friends there and just wandering around in awe. And wishing i played drums.

Funny, it's the same pattern repeated so often..

I.e. smaller operators serve industry for decades, large company opens almost overnight nationally (/buys a bunch of local stores/businesses), ends up forcing the closures of large numbers of smaller operators, then ends up eating itself a few years later.. Leaving everyone else fucked.

Have heard a few little bits and pieces, i.e. they're looking for a buyer. Anyone else heard anything?

Colour Factory have started doing C41 i believe.. I imagine as everything they do, they're be incredible, but not cheap.
