So perhaps losing a bandroom is a loss but seriously, that's where the loss ends. The rest of the building can only benefit from being developed by somebody with more than a skerrick of business acumen. No apologies to anyone regarding my snarky forecast of last year. The East was a crap pub before the bandroom anyway, pokies, TAB, gangsters etc. That pub has so much potential to be a great drinking venue with space to spare. As the local business owners say '' that place has legs'', I hope to see it rise from the ashes of medicrity and become a beacon of something other than sport on flat screens and hideous streetside menus boards. Things can only get better, that part of lygon St is an eyesore anyway and is already looking shite with cheap shabbily built apartment blocks.

Well, this news brings a tear of joy to my eye. In fairness though, good bands etc but less than what one might call a good watering hole. More like a dirty puddle on a side street.
