ARIAs 2011: The Front End Loader Speech That Never Was

I didn't think MGM were that hands on with the labels they distribute. They certainly aren't with Half A Cow! I've only ever put up for nomination a Kim Salmon album. Cost $300 and 25 cds or something like that.

Couldn't agree more with what the Loader wrote, getting that message to the 'music industry' in the room, pity it wasn't televised. BUT don't you have to nominate yourself to be in the ARIA awards? If they didn't want to be a part of it, why enter into the crock of shit in the first place?

Green Room Enmore - FREE live music

I wouldn't call another night of music saturating the market! Plenty of room for more live music in Sydney. Especially FREE music. See you there. Or at the Union. Or the Vanguard. Or the Sando. Or the Rose. Or any of the music venues in the area.

This is a press release, cut and pasted:

Live Music at the Green Room Lounge in Enmore.

Yep, it's that simple. The cool and cozy cocktail bar at 156 Enmore Road will be hosting FREE live music every Thursday night. They've bought the PA, hired the roadies, lined up the artists and are just waiting for you to play your part. So come along, sip a Fellini (or one of the many yummy cocktails made by the friendly bar staff) and catch some live music.

Starting TONIGHT with the HANDLEBARS from 8.30-11. A lounge act who play both country and rock + roll. Damien Cassidy, Cathy Bromley, Lindsay Dunbar and Nic Dalton are the Handlebars and they will deliver the goods. Free entry. Love for sale.

Thursday 20th October FERGUS BROWN (duo) with NIC DALTON + KATHRYN BROWNHILL (from the Gloomchasers) 8.30pm-11pm FREE ENTRY

Fergus Brown's debut record 'Burgers Frown' is a collection of sometimes quirky, sometimes tender, love songs. Guests on the record include Producer Tony Dupé (Holly Throsby), Producer Paul Mac (silverchair), Tim Derricourt (Dappled Cities), Jack Ladder, Stella Mozgawa and Holly Austin. Fergus has performed with Martha Wainwright, Josh Pyke, Jens Lekman, Sarah Blasko, Sally Seltmann, Cloud Control, Dappled Cities, Lior, An Horse and Jack Ladder. Fergus is a former winner of the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA), and the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. He recently won the Time Out Magazine and FBi Radio 'SMAC' Award for Best Song.
