i like the breakfast club on st georges rd thornbury - so cute and delicious! they also have a funny owl in the bathroom that turns it's head and hoots at intervals... quite unnerving at first, but adorably kitsch after a while!
Also when i lived in north melbourne fandango was a major fave... but they made my friend cry when she worked there so that made me go off them a bit.

ah yes, the inevitable fate of a prior post that every topic-starting-risk-taker must wear on the chin... thanks for letting me know!
Fave abbrevs
Discussion I Made about 2 years ago
what are your fave abbrevs?
Whatevs.
I don't generally like abbreviations, but there are some funny ones out there
i have been on an ocker tangent lately - like ending words in 'azza' - for example: I'm gonna take a shazza (shower) agrezza (agree)
ok so it's not exactly abbreviation per se, rather blatant abuse of the english language...
but farkin why not? you orstraylian or what?

Has anyone seen the new kaufman film 'Sy-neck-dough-chee' New York yet?
I saw it and was pretty well confused afterwards for a good 40 min or so. it definitely made me think a lot about what he might have been saying, or doing, or intending to do with the film.
It's worthwhile seeing just because it's a bit of a weird wormhole to kaufman's unique, if messy, take on life and depression and over-analytic new yorkers.
I think...
Basically i'm still trying to figure it out and want to hear your thoughts!

the four shirts thing makes me think of cronenburg's spider... depressing film about this total nut job (ralph fiennes) who wears four or five shirts at a time. He's insane. People who feel the need to wear more than one shirt at a time are also heading that way.

Hrrmm... my housemates are booked to play support on friday, which was meant to be thursday (tonight). Chances of a gig don't look so great... from what i am reading!
Damn those Liquor licensing bureaucrats and their nest of red tape! We want music! at the tote! with a nice cold beer to wash it down!
Is that too much to ask?

well Modi your technicality forces me to a further rationale: the term 'sell out' can also apply to an artist who's music used to sound original and creative, whereas it now sounds generic and distinctly 'sell-able' .... if you will

but you just have to look at them, they've shaved the beards, cut the long locks - it seems like some record co exec has gone ''look guys, love the sound, but uh, we're gonna have to give you a makeover and, maybe if you tried not to sing so funny...'' - watch the clip and tell me i'm wrong
