looking forward to the vanguard re-inventing itself with its new owners, definitely agree that FBi is totally in the right to get behind / establish a new venue. other venues could take the view that an energised gig-going audience is good for all.

Plug for Grün tonight @ the Lansdowne, free(!), on stage 9pm. We play noisy rock instrumentals - band was called Greenland :)

Saw Aimee last night at Enmore in Sydney - really good. After an average couple of songs on the bland side to begin, it picked up a lot. There were some nice variations and the small band (2 keyboard players/multi-instrumentalists worked well).

We actually had to split after an hour of her set, which was awesome because we walked out after Save Me, and just before Ben Lee joined her onstage for a duet. Didn't even see him! Just heard his voice trailing off behind me for 3 seconds. Mann unspoiled!

Oddly, I have played i only once or twice. 'tis good though.

Is Distortion a goodie? Was humming along with MF the other day and realised i only have 69 love songs and i. I was flipping out over 'absolutely cuckoo' and 'if you don't cry'. So so good, getting on a plane to Europe on Sunday, enough time to play all 69!

MGM is piss easy to get distro through, they will release pretty much anything. There you go.

MGM isn't always super effective (as liamsnice is saying, depends on your needs, your general momentum and other marketing you are doing) but they're really approachable and helpful imho.
