So easy to hate Modular, but then when you comparing it to what else is served up in Australia ...Faker, British India, G'scope, Livind end ....it starts looking a lot better. Unfortunateky we don't have the population to support really cool indie lables like the US does so those ''cool bands'' like Grizzly Bear, Deerhunter, Jay reatard can't really survive here on any meaningful level.

Having said that, it is pretty gross to see the way the Modular seems to champion sheen and style over any kind of substance. Pav said the midnight juggernauts would never be big because they didn't look cool enough, so the jugs told modular to get fucked..or so the story goes.

Adelaide was ok...they seemed a bit flat. Bordered on pretension.
