we gotta question whether or not he really is engaging in ''shock tactics'' and whether or not THIS is what he wants. why do his supposed shock tactics have so much weight? why should we care if marcus butcher is sitting somewhere getting satisfaction from being banned from pubs and being dropped from bills? if we don't agree with his values and his hatred (necktie, you've said that you think his beliefs are false), why should we play along with his tactics - if indeed he is actually using tactics at all. he's not challenging censorship or challenging anyone's beliefs in an intelligent way.

he's just so abjectly hateful and stupid. why give him a platform to spew his bullshit? it's just pure hateful bullshit, there's no social value in it at all. if there's a whole bunch of people who find him morally repulsive and are against having him on the bill, surely that must have more weight than his questionable tactics? it doesn't matter if he originally was gonna play friday, it's all part of the same two-day festival, and i rkn people's opinions should be taken into account.

i'm kinda astounded. to me it seems really simple. you don't dickheads to your birthday party. if someone says some shit you disagree with but they're putting it forwards in an intelligent way and dialogue is possible and people are gonna grow and progress from the discussion then i'm all for it. if they're just a straightup sexist racist asshole then it's a waste of everyone's time. irrelevant - but the music really is shit.

i am stoked on the other bands and this fest in general though. this detraction shows we stand for something when push comes to shove, so it makes the fest more awesome.
