This is a great album and I'd love to hear a followup :)
Rowland was awesome the one time I managed to see him play in melbourne
I fucking love the first two albums but after that it's all pretty bad. I don't like any of the Suede records, I don't like the McAlmont stuff, I don't like The Tears, I don't even like the bands Bernard is producing these days (mostly boring indie rock).
Dog Man Star is easily one of my favourite records ever, I'll just have to keep listening to that.
I disagree Tago - the biggest problem I have with JJJ is that they play absolutely awful international music. I can't stand a great deal of the Australian music they play, but I understand and respect that they play a pretty important role in supporting Aussie music. What fucking shits me is when they spend hours not just playing acts like The Wombats, but interviewing them, hyping up their concerts, etc. etc.
There's no fucking need for it and JJJ would be 100% better if they used that airtime to promote less mainstream Australian acts. They could play just as much Faker etc. to maintain their mainstream youth listenership, whilst also managing to do a lot more for Aus music instead of shouting about bands that 1) suck, 2) aren't aussie and 3) don't fucking need extra publicity.
Maybe I'm missing something and JJJ gets payed loads of money by companies to play that shit, money that they couldn't survive without. It's my number #1 complaint with the station though.
Ohio is where all those news reports about hilariously/scarily racist McCain supporters are coming from isn't it?
JJJ gives me the shits, especially dools.
I'd probably have a crush on linda if that show was anything but complete trash.
Consistently good before Mellon Collie. Sporadically good before Machina. Since then Machina II is the only thing even worth glancing at that Corgan has been involved with, and then only because it was free.
If you think Machina is a good album you need your head checked
Billy Corgan is and always has been an immense tool
Obama's a shitty debater, I'm quite glad McCain has no charisma left and makes him look reasonable in comparison
I will put an end to midori illusion earmarks
