Melbourne’s Because Of Ghosts have announced their last Australian show until late 2008. The group will play the East Brunswick Club on Saturday 30 June, with support from Extreme Wheeze and a solo Chris Smith, and tickets are on sale now from the venue. The trio, whose last release was the 2006 album The Tomorrow We Were Promised Yesterday, will be touring Canada in July before recording at Montreal’s Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango studio with producer Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor). After that there’s a year’s sabbatical while drummer Jacob Pearce studies in Sweden.
