With a mini album – Beast – set for release in July, Melbourne noise-rock quartet Magic Dirt are looking for bands to open for them on various shows across their forthcoming national tour. “We are really looking for ‘fucked up, out there’ bands,” explained bassist Dean Turner. “We want the bands that usually can’t get a show.”
With the upcoming tour scheduled for cities and rural centres, Magic Dirt are asking acts from around the country to send them their music. Band members will personally listen to the submissions, with each designated winner scoring an opening slot on at least one Magic Dirt bill.
Those interested should send a CD to: Magic Dirt Band Comp, PO Box 297, Fairfield, VIC 3078. Remember to include details of where you’re based and how you can best be contacted. However, it’s probably too soon to include a rider.
