It’s been a bit of a crawl, waiting for new material for Melbourne shoegaze gurus Lowtide. Following on from an earlier incarnation called Three Month Sunset, the band released a debut EP in 2010 and a great 7” in 2011. But new material is here at long last, and it’ll get an airing in Melbourne next month with a Tuesday residency at the Toff in Town.
Fans will have four chances to soak up songs from the quartet’s overdue first album, recorded at Soundpark in Northcote with UK expat Gareth Parton (Big Scary, Foals, The Go! Team) and set for release sometime this year. Support comes from Ladydreams (Feb 5), Glaciers (Feb 12), Darren Sylvester (Feb 19) and Montero (Feb 26). Tickets are $8 only at the door, which opens at 7:30pm. Until then, revisit the melody-drenched single ‘Underneath Tonight’ below.

I'm really relieved about that. That they've promised an LP. That's a great photo of them on the bed. I love you guys.
