Video Premiere: Nick Huggins ‘Golden Hour’

An intricate hand-drawn animation seems like a natural pairing for ‘Golden Hour’, the second single from Nick Huggins' new album Five Lights, which we described as “fixated on the small-scale”. Replete with sailboats and a Hills Hoist, the clip was created by Melbourne animator Lucy Fahey, who you may remember from Hello Satellites’ ‘Heartbeat Fast As A Rabbit’.

Five Lights is out now through Two Bright Lakes/Remote Control on CD and as a limited-edition package with an instrumental tape and book of words. Huggins, along with Lost Animal and Teeth + Tongue, will perform this Saturday (November 26) on the rooftop of Melbourne Central as part of a collaborative gig between M+N and Two Bright Lakes for Melbourne Music Week. Nick played this video at his album launch. All sketched video clips owe a great debt to the great forefather of sketched video clips - Aha's Take On Me.
