Forthcoming: Snowman

News posted Wednesday, March 30 2011 at 10:00 AM.
Related: Snowman.

What: Absence by Snowman.

When: April 22 via Dot Dash/Remote Control.

Key notes: Third and final album for the Perth-born quartet, who relocated to London in 2009. Follows The Horse, The Rat and The Swan, which topped the M+N Critics Poll in 2008. Recorded with Aaron Cupples (The Drones, Dan Kelly, Civil Civic) at various locations around London: a railway arch, a couple of studios in Hackney and in his flat in Dalston. Tells the story of two lovers: One passes away and the other tries to communicate with their ghost. Features first single ‘Hyena’.

From the presser:Absence is more seductive and more giving than the last record. It is a communication between the living and the dead. The ideas grew from months of travel, being away from home and its comforts/familiarities.” – singer/guitarist Joe McKee
