YAI Announce First Tour In A Year

You Am I have announced their first tour in a year. The band will play 16 shows across Australia in support of their new self-titled album, kicking off at Waves in Wollongong on October 14.

Out October 8 through new label Other Tongues – the band severed ties with EMI last month – it features first radio single ‘Shuck’, which is currently streaming on the band’s FaceBook page. Described as a “riveting address to the nation”, it was recorded over “various sessions, studios, and combinations” with producer/engineer Greg Wales and later mixed by James Cadsky.

Rusty looks like he's had a boy band makeover.

Great supports.

I'm going to the Saturday show at inferno traralgon. Should not sell out and the other 2 times I saw them there were brilliant. weird they're playing there though. but yay for me. excuse to visit the folks and raid their garden.

soula  said about 1 year ago:

Dear you am I, traralgon does not deserve you. You performed brilliantly despite the lack of crowd. Please don't put yourself through that again by playing that hole ever again. I had fond memories of that place but that was 10 years ago. I drove from Melbourne for the show.

Thank you
Souls.

You Am I at Billboard Friday night were BRILLIANT! I've seen em' more times than I count and that gig was up there with one of the best shows I've seen em' play.

Outstanding versions of 'Plans', 'Damage' and 'The Cream & The Crock' and 'Minor Byrd' performed and the new stuff sounded awesome also - especially 'Shuck' and 'Pinpricks'.

First time at Billboard too - great sound.

Oh and the new LP is killer... just keeps gettin' better

fuck i should have gone to billboard show instead.

we also got coprolalia, get up and purple sneakers. but weird to jump up and down to 'get up' all on your own...had to grab the setlist cause in my old age i couldn't remember the names of the songs. and i really like the new stuff, sounded great. they did the opening verse to heavy heart and then went into another song but can't remember what it was.

also the crowd (say 50 people) started booing after they finished, i think cause they wanted an encore. but dickheads didn't realise they already got it, they just didn't leave the stage and Tim said so.
