What: kyü by kyü.
When: September 17 on Popfrenzy.
Key notes: Debut album for Sydney duo Freya Berkhout and Alyx Dennison, who began making music together in mid-2009. Recorded over five days in early 2010 at Audioloc Sound Design in NSW with engineer/producer Daniell Johnston. The pair took an experimental approach utilising percussion, samples, beats and synths. “We found ourselves running around the room yelling and laughing and hitting things,” said Berkhout and Dennison of the recording of album track ‘Trains’. “Most of that made the cut ... It sounds sufficiently manic."
From the presser: “Encyclopaedic in its musical references and energetic in its delivery, kyü have created a musical masterpiece that goes beyond their year together, and their years as individuals.”

lovely!
i eagerly anticipate this disc.
Can't wait to hear the full album!
High Places remix of Pixiphony up on myspace now!
That's a pretty enjoyable remix. On the whole this song in both forms somewhat resembles 'Heart it races' via Deep Forest, don't y'all think, a little?
Actually, I was just thinking they should have done a ''mash up'' (lol) with the High Places track 'Gold Coin'. Pretty sure they're the same key and progression. Could have been interesting!
beautiful.....haunting
can't wait for the album
These girls are great! Looking forward to their album. Don't know if it will match up to them live and seeing them play click-clacks with the sticks though.
All I can hear is Dream Acadamy, Deep Forest and Enigma.
My dad would love this album. christmas present number 1 down.
How do you pronounce their name?
küüüjjjjjiiiüüüüiiiiüüükk ....at least that's how I've been saying it.
The Sydney launch is at Paddington Uniting Church!
FBi's album of the week. Awesometown!
Nice. Know what date?
22nd of Rocktober. Same night as Low :(
I really enjoyed seeing these ladies when they supported High Places and Xiu Xiu the other week. They sounds fantastic live, really loud and interesting and have a reasonably polished sound despite dropping a glock in the middle of a song once. Really looking forward to the album.
