My Disco will release their third album Little Joy through Shock on October 15.
The follow-up to their acclaimed 2008 long-player Paradise, the album was recorded at a “relaxing” session at Electrical Audio in Chicago with Steve Albini in March (more details here). It was later mixed at Sydney’s BJB Studios with Scott Horscroft, who worked on the band’s recently released 12” ‘Young’.
Guitarist Ben Andrews said Horscroft brought out a different textural side to the band, layering vocals, delaying guitars and adding reverb to drums. “These are things we have never achieved on record before,” Andrews said. “It’s nice to have both elements: Steve’s rawness meets Scott’s subtle production.”
To whet appetites for the October release, the band have released a teaser track called ‘Turn’. It’s currently streaming here.

Sweet.
Yet another amazing bio photo from My Disco.
It's the day after they had shot the previous one. Ben drinks a coffee in an attempt to recover from events which occured in an alcohol enduced game of twister. His brother however seems more than pleased to have seens his brothers penis again especially after the infamous 93' bathtub incident in which Ben had fallen back onto the faucet. The faucet been running hot water and slightly burnt this inside of his asshole when he landed on it.
Also, waiting for HEB to storm in screaming that this isn't breaking news, it was posted on the board days ago, yadda yadda.
Killer musicians. Terrible bio pics.
new track is qual.
Of all the new tracks I've heard live, i found this one the most boring. I guess it works as a teaser, though.
Really love the albini/horscroft combination.
reckon these guys could ever work in the same room though?
Hahaha. Have you seen Horscroft's hair? No wai!
The MD promo shots are Interesting and much better than the standard intense posed staring.
agree.
I agree too, although I think the pot plants one is really lame and contrived compared to the others.
It's obviously showing off their playful side.
I CAN SEE U LOL!!
So the albums called 'Little Joy'?
Interesting......
LOLOLOLL
i like this new direction.
Hahaha, that track is funny as. This band has finally turned into Ned's Atomic Dustbin.
Mission complete!
Jesus Christ. Well spotted. I had a Ned's haircut when I was fifteen.
I haven't listened to the song yet, but I have always maintained that Ned's Atomic Dustbin were a band ahead of their time. Like the mythical Cassandra, their vision of the future was fated to fall on deaf ears. Perhaps their day has finally come.
CASSANDRA!

So Horscroft turned up to this session then.
