Mondo Generator’s Nick Oliveri will almost certainly miss out on a Christmas card from Violent Soho after the former Queens of the Stone Age bass player cancelled a run of dates across the US with the neo-grunge four-piece.
In a blog entry on the band’s MySpace page, Violent Soho lamented Oliveri’s 11th-hour decision to cancel the tour.
“He decided that he wanted to cancel the tour at the very last minute and so now we've been left in a dry spot for some of our shows this week,” read the post. “It's a shame that Nick couldn't make the decision not to play these shows a little sooner. If it had happened a little sooner then perhaps we could have rescheduled in these towns.”
Instead of kicking back in their adopted home city of Brooklyn (the band originally hail from Mansfield in Queensland’s “bible belt”), Violent Soho have decided to book their own dates, starting with a support slot for emo overlords 30 Seconds to Mars. The band will play 16 dates with the Jared Leto-fronted outfit including four shows in Canada. They’ve previously toured with the likes of Built To Spill, The Ravenonettes, The Bronx, Black Angels and Dinosaur Jr, but none of those bands make film clips like this.

Is someone from Extortion currently playing with Mondo Generator?
that photo is making me hungry.
In the time it took to watch that 30 Seconds To Mars clip I could have actually travelled to and from Mars almost nine times. Guff!
